2,000 PAPER CRANES FLY OVER NORTHPARK SUNDAY
Crow Collection Installs Show-Stopping Origami Cranes
Friday, July 27, 2007

Symbolizing Hope at CASA's "Parade of Playhouses" Benefit

WHAT:

To enhance CASA’s annual “Parade of Playhouses,” The Crow Collection of Asian Art is installing 2,000 colorful paper cranes from the lofty ceiling of Northpark Center. The cranes will also be hung in the windows of the newly renovated Tiffany & Co., and will fly above the Japanese-themed CASA playhouse. The museum will display Rock Crystal spheres and other art, extending the walls of the museum for the 2-week benefit.

Japanese students folded the cranes as a gift to the museum. Historically, cranes were made in Japan to bring children injured in Hiroshima hope, luck and health. They since became a symbol of hope and healing, mirroring the sentiment of the CASA fundraiser—to advocate for misfortunate children.

WHEN:
Cranes being installed Sunday, July 29, 6 – 10 p.m.
Recommended time for photo-op: 7 – 8:00 p.m.

WHERE:
Inside NorthPark Center, by Tiffany’s
8687 N. Central Expressway
