ASIAN ART AMBASSADORS
Time Requirements:

  • MINIMUM: One 3-Hour Shift/Month

Responsibilities:

  • Visitor Services
  • Guest Relations
  • Museum Lobby Liaison
  • Cultural Programs

Scope:

  • Encourage visitor sign-in and on-site museum membership enrollment,  facilitate the interest of others to become ASIAN ART AMBASSADORS
  • Track visitor comments/concerns and document findings to improve marketing efforts (i.e. E-mail update at the end of each shift)
  • Ensure effective display of lobby materials, respond to telephone inquiries and oversee lobby operations (i.e. special packages, contacting appropriate staff members when needed, etc.)
  • Fulfill AAA Cultural Activity Check-list to ensure current skills and museum knowledge (i.e. Arts District Stroll, European Sculpture Garden tour, etc.)

COLLECTIONS & EXHIBITIONS
Intern will assist the Collections Manager & Junior Curator in the organization and management of the permanent collection and exhibitions on loan. The intern will assist with research and update the museum database. Most of the internship will take place off-site at the art storage facility.

EDUCATION
The education intern will assist in the development of programs and publications with the goal of enhancing public access and understanding of the cultures and contexts of the arts of Asia. The programs include workshops, lectures, family days, concerts and festivals for adults and children. Publications include family guides and web content. The intern will also work with the Education Department to develop the art library; including cataloging and organizing new additions to the book collection.

MARKETING
Time Requirements:

  • MINIMUM: One 3-Hour Shift/Week

  • Social Professional Programs

Scope:

  • Develop on-line museum awareness campaigns via local distribution channels (www.kera.org, www.dfwinternational.org, www.uptowndallas.net, etc.)  
  • Participate as a volunteer in JADE Membership programming (i.e. JADE Lotus Mixers, JADE Arts District Strolls, etc.)
  • Analyze the use/content of the museum web-site (i.e. propose improvements in efficiency & navigation, trouble shoot content and functionality, etc.)

PUBLIC RELATIONS
Time Requirements:

  • MINIMUM: One 3-Hour Shift/Week

Responsibilities:

  • CITY Outreach
  • TEXAS Outreach
  • Professional Networking

Scope:

  • Develop local museum awareness campaigns via Dallas distribution channels (i.e. Starbucks, Arts District Friends, Concierge Associations, etc.)
  • Develop state-wide museum awareness campaigns via Texas distribution channels (i.e. Visitor Bureaus, Texas museums, Texas Travel Centers, Destination Management Companies, etc.)
  • Attend a MINIMUM of one marketing function/month sponsored by local professional networking associations (i.e. Uptown Association, D/FW International, etc.)

SPECIAL EVENTS & MEMBERSHIP
The intern will assist in the planning of special events and membership development under the supervision of the Special Events/Membership Coordinator. The intern will assist in planning of the program calendar and develop a strategic plan for marketing membership programs. Intern will update membership database for which training will be provided.
